6 Reasons You Need to Prime Your Pits

We know what you’re thinking. A serum for my armpits? You’ve got to be kidding me. But hear us out! Our soothing Pit Primer isn’t just a nice-to-have little extra; it’s a must-have staple for anyone using natural deodorant. Or anyone with armpits, really. Here’s why:

1. Pit Detox Can Be the Pits.

The pit detox process can be, shall we say… unpleasant? The increased sweat and odor are enough to deal with on their own, but the tenderness and bumpiness are just no fun. That’s why we include a soothing Pit Primer in our best-selling Pit Detox Kit. It helps minimize the irritation and discomfort that can come with transitioning to a natural deodorant.

2. Baking Soda Sensitivities Are a Thing.

Some pits can tolerate baking soda deodorant, and some can’t. If baking soda leaves you with red, rashy, itchy pits, we do offer 4 baking soda free alternatives – zinc deodorant, activated charcoal deodorant, magnesium deodorant, and a witch hazel spray deodorant. But if you’re committed to staying the course with your favorite baking soda Pit Paste, layering Pit Primer underneath can help protect your pits. If you aren’t sure how your pits will respond to baking soda, using Pit Primer first is a good safety net to prevent potential irritation.

3. Other Sensitivities Also Happen.

Even if baking soda isn’t a problem for you, those pits of yours may still be sensitive to things like certain pure essential oils. Should you find yourself with any irritation, we recommend discontinuing use immediately. Then, use Pit Primer to help your poor pits get back on their feet. Ingredients like aloe, chamomile and calendula will help soothe, calm, and moisturize.

4. Nobody Enjoys Razor Burn...

If you shave any part of your body – pits, PoPo, face, legs, or otherwise – Pit Primer works wonders to help minimize razor burn. Simply apply after you shave and voila – razor burn no more.

5. Or Ingrown Hairs.

The same goes for ingrown hairs. Think of Pit Primer as your post-shave miracle.

6. Pits Deserve to Be Pretty Too.

Just like you care for the rest of your skin, showing your pits some TLC is important too. Incorporating Pit Primer into your regular routine will leave you with beautiful pits you’ll want to show off! You can find Pit Primer here.

Why did you discontinue your original unscented formula? None of your other formulas work as well. I’ve purchased 5 different ones now in the hope one would be similar.

Hi Willeen,

It sounds like you may have a baking soda sensitivity! We would recommend trying one of our 4 baking soda free options: Zinc, Charcoal, Magnesium, or our Witch Hazel spray. Please let us know if you have any questions!

I am so sad! I started using Primal Put Paste Royal & Rogue. I love that smell. People have even commented on how wonderful I smelled when wearing it. So I bought $60 worth of that and the Charcoal Activated. Both smell wonderful. I was almost done with my third Royal & Rogue and still using a lavender one I had bought at a store when I developed “The Rash”. I also developed a rash to using Trader Joe’s lavender triple milled soap. I use the Primal Pit Paste once in a while, but at the end of the day, I’m itchy. It’s sad cuz I really like your deodorants! And I still have about 5 more to use up. I may give the serum a try.
